I hit this place on the way back to Lancaster county from the Poconos
The deluxe Italian hoagie is the most authentic I've found outside of Phila and north of I -78 it's rare in my travels
Wife got the cheesesteak hoagie Sunday and from the nibble I had that was also exceptional
On a side note if ur heading south from I-81 and ur gps directs u down 61 thru Pottsville u can make just as good time and avoid Pottsville traffic by taking 309 down thru Tamaqua and hanging a right on 443 which turns into 895 and intersects with 61 just above 78 ( you'd make a left off of 895 at 61 traffic light to go toward 78 or Reading etc )
Plus u get to stop and get a kick butt hoagie
You're welcome -

Their sandwiches are outstanding and in a class all their own. The quality of the food is truly amazing. The bread is made on site and they will customize any order with love and care. The sandwiches have a unique flair and the texture is divine.

This is a local sandwich shop does not provide for a very pleasurable dining experience. The interior is very dated, dilapidated and grungy. The sandwiches are at best serviceable. The only form of money that is accepted is cash, so if you have a credit card you are out of luck. The prices aren't really that reasonable either. Local seem to love this place, however I would not suggest it for anyone traveling from out of town.

I didn't give one star because it didn't taste bad and the quality was okay, but after so many people recommended their hoagies, I expected more. There was barely any meat or anything, but it was TONS of bread. Never went back, nor will I.
